We learned a few major items for the EBS DBA community at Collaborate. First, 12.2.8 was confirmed to have a planned release of Fall 2018 (past experience places this on or around Openworld), and 12.3 is confirmed with a planned release about 1.5 after 12.2.8 (so around Spring 2020). Second, while there is still a strong emphasis on EBS in the cloud, it was pointed out that DBCS will not apply EBS patches meaning that an EBS DBA will still be essential for companies running the E-Business Suite.
OAUG has announced the formation of a new SIG covering Advanced Architecture and High Availability. The SIG will be holding webinars over the next couple of months.
